Tomáš Nakládal, Founder & CEO

How big is the entire team currently?

We are team of 10. We have inhouse website and app developer team (5 in total). The head of team & CTO is Aleš Dopita. He’s led teams in corporation for 7 years.

How did you come up with the idea? What motivated you to do this?

I am a passionate traveler and I wanted to preserve my travel memories somewhere. I came with the idea to connect scratch world travel map with maps and photos, so every traveler can have order in their travel memories. So Worldee.com was born.

What is your target market? Why do you think your product will appeal to?

Our targeted market is online planning and booking, worth 259 billion USD/year and 18% growth/year. Right now we focus on Europe.

What are the marketing plans apart from the product hunt/beta list launch? How are you planning to acquire new users?

We already use many ways to gain users and customers. From classic methods (PPC, emailing, affiliate, ASO, SEO, influencer marketing, blog, etc.) to unorthodox growth hacking paths (LinkedIn marketing, barter blog posting, establishing B2B cooperation, etc.)

Do you have a separate dedicated team to take care of marketing (digital marketing/traditional marketing)? Which digital platforms are you focusing more on?

Yes, we have a separate marketing team. Marketing manager is inhouse, other 5 people are freelancers (specialist on growth hacking, community management, influencer marketing, TikTok marketing, PPC specialist, ect.).

What according to you is the biggest challenge that you faced? Is it product development or marketing or scaling or … ?

Our biggest challenge, as a typical B2C project, is a traction.

Who are your competitors/alternatives? What sets you apart from them?

There are trip planners and there are travel diaries. However, no platform brings these two elements together.

In addition, none of our competitors specialize in selling complete travel packages. In this way, we want to disrupt the market for the sale of tours.

We consider PolarSteps as our biggest competitor.

What are the future plans with the product/startup? Any new features you are planning on?

Worldee works as a web application. Right now we are working on native mobile app for both platforms. This is our next big thing.
