Urban Quest lets you discover new places through thematic quests and riddles, anywhere you go

Travelling is one of the most adventurous things that people tend to do many times round the year. However, whenever any travel plan is made, it’s either one or two common places frequently visited. However, for those that want to spice up their travelling experience and add some “quests” to their journey, then Urban Quest can facilitate that request of yours exponentially.

Urban Quest is a platform that lets users discover new and unknown places in and around their locations. It’s more of a Sherlock Holmes kind of situation where you have to guess that place and then travel the area to figure out what the application is trying to say. It’s all fun and games as it lets you see the parts of the city or town that you might have missed out on. Urban Quest also lets you create your quests as per your requirements. Speaking with Polina Rant, the project manager at Urban Quest, Venture Mirror grasped a lot about the company and its functioning. To learn more, brief excerpts from the conversation are provided below.

What is the startup / product / venture about? Give us a brief description of it.

Urban Quest – is a platform for creating and completing quests using a mobile application.

Quest – is a game with puzzles in the style of Sherlock Holmes, the ultimate goal of which is to solve all the answers to the questions.

The main feature of our quests is that travelers learn more about interesting cities and routes.

How did you come up with the idea? What motivated you to do this?

Anastasia about our project:
Hey! My name is Anastasia, and I am the author of the “Urban Quest” idea. People often ask how the idea of an application in which you can go through and create quests came about.

I love to travel, but unfortunately I do not do it as often as I would like. On my account there are only 30 countries. The holiday, like many others, is always shorter than I would like, but I have always wanted to see everything at once. I tried different types of excursions, tried dozens of apps with guides and riddles, but nothing was fun and accessible at the same time.

I was hatching the idea for several years, until something more or less intelligible formed in my head. An application that could help a tourist to get to know the city, guessing riddles, and  to brighten up boring everyday life to an ordinary person in search of answers to unexplored parts of the city. Also, the idea is for quests to be everywhere, so we made convenient tools for authors, with the help of which anyone can create an interesting adventure.

Who is your target market? Why do you think your product will appeal to them?

Absolutely anyone anywhere in the world can download our application and start creating and completing quests.
The number of international tourist trips made worldwide in 2019 reached 1.5 billion, which means that many of them would be delighted to get acquainted with Urban Quest.
Urban Quest is an app dedicated to active people who enjoy quizzes and love travelling but don’t want the usual boring city tour. Matching the knowledge that locals share for their own city with the eagerness for the discovery shown by travelers, the app offers the opportunity to create unique quests full of riddles that will enhance the exploration of must-see and niche places of the major cities across the globe.

Who are your competitors? How are you different from them?

Surprise Me, Miratia, Questo are our closest colleagues. The main advantage of our platform is that it is two-sided and allows not only passing, but also creating quests. Also, due to the presence of a small number of authors in a certain location, our competitors hardly develop in other cities and countries, and the content is quite similar, since the same people are engaged in it.

What are the future plans with the product/startup? Any new features you are planning on?

In the near future we will release the ability to purchase quests through our application. Thus, the authors will be able to earn money on their quests. We also plan to expand our quest creation to the education sector allowing schools and museums to create more engaging content.
Secondly, the development of directions for corporate quests and quests for various events.
