Night Eye

Night Eye: Dark mode on any browser

Browsers are applications that are most used on laptops/desktops, which emit blue light through the UI. These are the lights that are harmful to the eyes in the long run. To make it a pleasurable viewing experience, some extensions can alter the UI of the browser. But with Night Eye, achieving dark mode on almost any website is now feasible.

It’s quite a handy application that lets users have a unique twist to their browsing sessions with dark mode always present. Thus, Venture Mirror had the opportunity to have a brief interaction with Stan Dimitrov, Founder of Night Eye, to learn more.

What is the startup/product about? Give us a brief description of it.

Night Eye is a browser extension that enables dark mode on nearly any website. The extension is available on all major browsers – Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Vivaldi, and all other Chromium-based browsers. Night Eye comes with three months of completely free trial, offers a free forever Lite version, and the Pro plans are only $9 per year.

How many co-founders are there? Please introduce them and their backgrounds.

We are four founders and have been working together on various projects for seven years. We are a remote company since day 1.

How did you come up with the idea? What motivated you to do this?

Basically, we were scratching our itch. There was no substantial dark mode extension, so we decided to build one for ourselves. After we made it, we saw that there is a big trend emerging, so we decided to push it as a product of ours.

Who is your target market? Why do you think your product will appeal to them?

Pretty much anyone that spends too much time online and prefers a darker UI. More specifically – developers, writers, educators, and students. One big chunk of our target market is people that have different severe eye conditions.

Who are your competitors? How are you different from them?

Dark Reader is our main competitor. We are continually pushing to develop our algorithm, which, for the past year, is superior to theirs. We also offer support to any user.

What are the future plans with the product/startup? Any new features you are planning on?

Yes, one of the prominent features that we are working on is color changing. The user will be able to modify any color on any website to their preference. Thus they will be able to build a custom theme for their favorite websites.
