What is the startup / product / venture about? Give us a brief description of it.

Angle Audio is the first cross-platform social audio app for iOS, Android and web. Angle is a bit like Clubhouse, but different 😉: We are on all major platforms, focusing on more intimate and intentional conversations and we added some distinctive properties to reinforce inclusiveness, authenticity and intimacy by design. How many co-founders are there? Please introduce them and their backgrounds.

Matthias D Strodtkoetter, CEO, Matthias worked in strategy consulting at Arthur D. Little and was one of the first business developers at Beekeeper. Before that he served as president for ETH juniors. He studied physics at ETH Zurich and has researched quantum computers at the University of Tokyo.

Valerius Huonder, CTO, Valerius pushed high-quality code at Valtech, ti&m, and co-founded a crypto-startup. He holds a Masters in information technology from ETH Zurich and has been the MVP of ETHjuniors on a couple of occasions.

Matthias Karg, CPO, Matthias scaled product design at Beekeeper and spent some time at IDEO in San Francisco and Munich. He graduated from the interaction design masters program at the Umeå Institute of Design close to the arctic circle.

How did you come up with the idea? What motivated you to do this?

The story of Angle starts in Tokyo, where I was longing for a way to easily connect and talk to experienced physicists during my research in quantum information theory. After another similar experience a bit later on, I was wondering, there must be an easier way to connect the curious with the wizards, right? So I sat down with Valerius and Matthias K. and we started working on Angle in early 2020 to build a platform that connects people in audio conversations. Because we believe that the right conversation and the right time changes everything.
